Harry Potter, Spongebob and now Buster?
'They'(so-called Christians) gathered in packs around a roaring blaze to banish 'Harry Potter' from their children's lives (apparently never realizing that they had to buy the books first, thus making it possible for yet more 'evil magic' to be conjured.) Then 'They' claim that 'SpongeBob SquarePants,' our squishy little friend who "..Lives in a pineapple under the sea.." is gay..Oh My!.. Not Spongebob! Apparently it is wrong to teach our children tolerance and compassion towards others. And now(.....Drum roll please.....) an episode of 'Postcards from Buster' , the hip-hip-happy hare from the PBS series 'Arthur', will not be shown because it features two lesbian couples in Vermont(a state known for same-sex civil marriages,) although the episode is about maple sugar farming and puts no emphasis on lesbians whatsoever. What exactly do 'They' think will happen to their children while watching or reading these stories? Will their little brains melt from the confusion of it all? I don't think so. Most likely these children would not even realize what they were watching.. and if they did? Maybe it's time to teach their children about the real world.
